Our DIY Solar Aquaponic System

I am so glad to share this post with you today, as after over 3 years of research and tinkering, I was finally able to assemble my first solar powered aquaponic system. Check it out in the video below:

In the video above, I walk you through our DIY Aquaponics System I built using scrap or inexpensive parts I found online or on Craigslist.

The system is solar powered using a solar generator I built using used parts I collected over time. Find out how to build you own solar generator at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCuV-wghBq0

What you’ll need to build the aquaponic system:

2x Air Pumps – http://bit.ly/Air-Pump
25ft Air Tubing – http://bit.ly/Air-Tubing
4x Air Stones – http://bit.ly/Air-Stone
Water Pump – http://bit.ly/80GPH-Water-Pump
140 Gallon Water Tank – http://bit.ly/140-Gallon-Tank
2x Grow Tubes – http://amzn.to/24BpFTl

You’ll need a piece of garden hose and a piece of PVC to draw water from your water tank to both your grow tubes.

  1. What a wonderful build! I’ll agree it’s a little “redneck” but otherwise seems to be functional. I can’t believe how small your pepper plants are yet they’re exploding with fruit!! Very impressive!!!

  2. I really like the way you build stuff on the cheap that actually works. I thought your solar generator idea was great until I read this post and watched the video. Absolutely brilliant stove concept, and simple too!!!! I very glad I found you site…
